NYSC – A scheme designed to give every graduate, be it polytechnic or university grad, the opportunity to explore other parts of the nation, forming networks in the process, building relationships and adding value to oneself.

I am proud to say that the period of my service year gave me the opportunity to get to where I am today, provided a platform to setup a business which paved the way for my position now…I used the period to gain skills which helped me to move up to a level I never expected.

As you have said Emmanuel, looking inwards and taking a second look can actually be the tonic needed to enter the next phase after graduation while serving fatherland.

NYSC provided the platform for me to meet my wife

NYSC gave me a chance to re-evaluate my values

NYSC gave me the opportunities to meet other tribes and understand their mappings in life.

NYSC also gave me time to read thoroghly gaining perspective from great men.

The pros of NYSC outweighed the cons (for me!)

so I agree with your write-up!
