Best Nigerian University ranked 6340 in the world!

I was just reading the World’s Universities ranking for African and still find out that no Nigerian University has been able to find itself even within the top 6000 in the world. This is no doubt the true reflector of the quality of the Nigerian education system. The few Nigerian Universities that make the top 100 in Africa are University of Ibadan (57 in Africa, 6304 in the world), Obafemi Awolowo University (69 in Africa, 6645 in the world),

OLUWATOSIN Emmanuel's interest in Information Communication and Technology was formed when he saw a computer for the first time in 1995, while still in secondary school, after which he went on to obtain a certificate in Computer Appreciation. His good sense of vision and commitment made him to get involved in various Youth Empowerment projects across the country. His major drive is to see a shift from meetings to events, ensuring that words give way to action - thereby addressing the need to step up from being end users to innovative minds. He is a member of various youth-led initiatives and organization like WSIS Youth, African Youth ICT4D Network, Nigerian Anti-Scam Network, African Role Models etc.

  17. J PICKAVANCE says:

Any right thinking Nigerian graduate that sees this world ratings of our Universities should bury his face in shame other than showering undeserved regrettable praises on his or her University of graduation .All universities in Nigeria have similar set ups with lecturers being exchanged here and there the products u can be rest assured are similar in all respect, all falling below 6000 in World rating .There should be a grassroot revolution of our Educational system to address this unacceptable position we are said to occupy

  18. Chioma says:

Well it is a pity we are far below average in our educational system. Everyone is saying its a shame nigeria is not among the top 6000…in the world. Now let me ask, how many students are doing thier research, staying awake long nights to study their books? The government is not helping but there is no excuse to failure. Even when our universities are not standard, at least the little they have should bring out the ‘you’ in you if there is determination. Honestly, everyone is contributing to our low standard of education. Let’s sit up so that we can do more!

  19. Jibril Ipemida says:

Yeah! Indeed, a reflector of our educational system but this is no time to point and make accusation because as we all know the educational system is a resposibility of every Nigerian including stakeholders. I think all that is needed is a result based, effective and durable structure that is hoped to make the difference. All I can say is let Nigerian work, wish and hope for the best that is yet to come.

  20. prec says:

goodluck our president is the only man that i thought will deliver this country but ended up a man without head but wooden artifact as head. from 10 [point agenda to 7 point agenda now its 5 point agenda next it will be 1 point agenda which will be corruption in full force. were are we heading to? very soon we will all be sold out without our notice.

  21. Although the ranking of university is based on alot of factor, research being the most of them. ranking of universiy is a function of graduate outputed

  22. Southern Cross says:

The lack of diction, grammatical placement, spelling proficiency, eloquence and choice of words of almost all the commenters on this site is enough of an indicator of the poor level of education in our country. Most of us can BARELY EVEN SPELL! Not to talk of composition of words. It’s sad, but education does not start and end in school. It starts and ends with the individual.

I weep for my country. We are a country of willing illiterates.

  23. Nigeria has a very long way to go, our leaders are not helping issues God help.

  24. Austin says:

University of Nigeria Nsukka still the Best. Talk of Academic standard, infact talk of intrinsic and extrinsiç criteria. UNN still stand tall.
