Looking for Job, Look inward!

Job I was on my way to a friend’s office in Opebi and was held up in traffic for close to 30 mins. Nobody could give me a clue as to what was causing the hold-up. What I saw at the Opebi junction afterwards really set me thinking.

Unknown to me, one of the new generation banks was meant to organise her recruitment test that day. The test was meant to be in batches but you would see thousands of candidates waiting eagerly to write the test. The picture above actually shows the crowd waiting for their turn in front of the examination centre.

This is not peculiar to this bank alone. I can still remember the experiences some of my friends had while trying to write the last Guinness Recruitment test. Some waited for hours and didnt even have the opportunity to write the test. A friend said that he had to leave the centre in annoyance when he found out that the 12:00 noon batch had not even written their test as at 4:00 pm when he was meant to write his own. Everybody Has 24 Hours in a Day

Published by User ImageEmmanuel under Personal Productivity

Time is the great equalizer for all of us. We all have 24 hours in a day, 7 days a week, yielding 168 hours per week. Take out 56 hours for sleep (we do spend about a third of our week asleep) and we are left with 112 hours to achieve all the results we desire. We cannot save time (ever have any time left over on a Sunday night that you could lop over to the next week?), it can only be spent. And there are only two ways to spend our time: we can spend it wisely, or, not so wisely.

Always remember that everybody has the same twenty - four hours. How come some people are able to amass fortunes with their time, while others barely accomplish the essentials of life? Observing people from different walks of life, one common thread seems to separate the winners from the losers in the accomplishment arena. Winners have learnt to organize their time and resources to achieve their objectives, while the rest are just endeavoring to get organized.

Customer is King

The customer is always right. This holds true except when he is wrong, which is most of the time. In sales, right and wrong don’t matter. Keeping the customer satisfied and happy is what matters. Even when it seems it is the customer that is wrong, you still have to do everything to ensure that customer is satisfied. I have since found out that a satisfied customer will keep coming back.

it takes more effort to get a new customer than to keep the existing ones

Here is a formula I have used many times in handling the dreaded customer complaint. You must first take responsibility for the problem. You just have to do this even if the fault is not yours or you would not be the one who handles it. The customer doesn’t care whose fault it is. He is perturbed. He just wants you to handle it.
