A year younger: Join me in Praising GOD…

Published by User Imagepace under Personal

Hm… I would be a year younger tomorrow, Saturday, 29 April 2006. How do I feel? I feel GOOD…This is indeed another time to reflect on what I have been able to achieve in the past few years. The past one year has been full of positive events and these I must acknowledge. Though I didnt achieve what I thought I would have achieved at this age but I still have REASONS to thank GOD for how far HE has helped me. I am indeed a reflection of HIS FAITHFULNESS.

Tomorrow, I would reviewing my plans again for the next 5 years. Do I hear you say 5 years? Yes, I mean 5 years. 2007 will be the 5th year that I graduated from the university. So, I need to prepare for what lies ahead. Like my pastor always say,

Failure to plan is planning to fail.

I would be staying in door for most part of tomorrow so as to have quality and quantity time to refelect and chart the course of the next five years of my life beyond the celebration that will take place tomorrow at my house. This is no invitation for people to come to my house oh… havent collected salary yet and my business partners arent saying anything yet. Maybe, they have a surprise package for me. Only time will tell :) ). Anyway, if you are available, you can show your face. Just drop me an offline message or send me a text, I’d then send you the description to my house.

If you dont mind, you can just help to say a word of thanksgiving to BABA GOD on my behalf. Join me in praising GOD. I have seen HIS GOODNESS. HE is the reason why I am who I am and where I am where I am today.

Meanwhile, I have started receiving gift(s) from well-wishers. It doesnt necessary have to be in cash. It can be in kinds too. Just choose the option that is convenient from you. In case you forget to wish me HAPPY BIRTHDAY, dont forget to send in your gift(s).

Developing a Stronger Mind

Developing your mental muscles will give you the power to accomplish anything you want in life. Sure, it takes some discipline on your part, but look at the world’s greatest bodybuilders. They don’t show up at the gym every once in a while. They create a workout schedule and they are at the gym every day, no matter what.

You have to hire yourself as your “mental manager“. Figure out how much you’re going to pay yourself and I make up a job list. Here are six jobs to assign to yourself to create a stronger mind.

1. Read Right
How much good news do you see in the newspapers? Editors usually say, “If it bleeds, it leads.” Read books – good books. Books that motivate you. Books that inspire you. Look up some of the great inspirational authors in your local bookstore. Read them every morning and/or every night, before you go to sleep.

2. Share Your Mind
Find someone, or a group of someones, who have the same desire to share positivity. This is called masterminding. Great successes are created when great minds come together and think about the same things. Continue Reading »

Lesson from an Elephant…

Got this story about an Elephant that lost an eye and decided to share it on this blog. I believe the lesson is one that everybody must not miss…

An elephant came to the edge of a stream of clear rushing water. Being thirsty, the elephant leaned over, dropped its trunk into the cool water and… plunk! “What? What happened?” the elephant cried. “I can’t see! My eye… it fell in the water! Oh nooooooh,” the elephant wailed in a panic, “I lost my eye!”

And, in fact, the elephant’s right eye had popped out of its socket and fallen into the stream. The elephant searched frantically for the eye, groping with its trunk along the bottom of the stream. The more he groped, the cloudier the water became. That made him panic even more, and he started churning up great piles of sand, until he couldn’t see anything.

Then the elephant heard the sound of laughing. Furious, he looked around to see who it was, and saw a little green frog sitting on a log, laughing and laughing.

“You think this is funny?” the elephant shouted. “I lose an eye and that makes you laugh?”

“What’s funny is to see how upset you are. Calm down and everything will be fine,” the frog replied.

The elephant felt a little ashamed and took the frog’s advice. He stopped moving his trunk around, and soon the water became clearer as the sand sank to the bottom. And there in the stream lay his eye. He reached for it with his trunk and popped it back into its socket. And then he thanked the frog.

Lesson:
This simple parable contains great wisdom. There’s nothing funny about losing an eye… the sudden panic, thrashing around in murky water, desperation… that’s exactly what happens to us when we lose control and panic. Our haste makes us blind.

We become temporarily incapable of seeing the world around us objectively and rationally. But there is an antidote to panic: wait. Wait until the situation becomes clear and the black clouds disperse.

Diamond Bank introduces delivery channel system

Diamond Bank Plc in a bid to promote retail banking in the country has introduced delivery channel system tagged “Diamond Bank Mini”. The bank mini, situated within the Palms Shopping complex in Lekki Peninsular, Lagos, was unveiled to the public last week by the chairman of the bank, Mr Pasca Dozie.

The bank’s Managing Director, Mr Emeka Onwuka said Diamond Bank Mini is designed to enhance customers’ access to the bank’s existing service channels. Mr Onwuka said the underlying aim is to make the banking transactions short and pleasant as well as providing customers with those basic services without hassels of a big bank branch.

He pointed out that Diamond Bank mini is a whole delivery channel for the bank’s technologically driven products, targeted at optimizing customers’ satisfaction. He said other areas of concentration include Ikota Shopping Complex, Victoria Garden City, Tejuosho and Ago palace way, Okota and many more outlets to be rolled out around the country in phases.

The bank’s managing director said the mini is equipped with an internet station, a bulk country room, a personal banking suite and an interswitch connected Automated Teller Machine (ATM) which provides both customers and non-customers of the bank unhindered access to their accounts.

Consequently, with a fully equipped internet station within the mini, a customer can easily walk into the bank and perform free online banking transactions without interfacing with bank operatives. Other products channels available to customers through the mini are internet and mobile banking, cash deposit and withdrawal from the counters and ATM facility for unaided access to cash

With shareholders’ funds in excess of N33 billion and total credit exposure of $70 million within the International Finance Corporation, the bank is well positioned to play a key role in Nigeria’s ongoing banking and economic reforms.
